Mathematics

The school has developed a sequential mathematics program that develops students' skills, knowledge and understanding about a wide range of mathematical concepts. There is a strong focus on developing student’s numeracy skills in the early years though an activity based program. Students are involved in a wide range of activities in the following areas:

• Number and Algebra
• Measurement and Geometry
• Statistics and Probability

The program aims to create engaged mathematicians by:

• Providing a range of activities that foster the development of problem solving skills through practical and open–ended problems
• Supporting students to verbalise their strategies
• Encouraging students to reflect and evaluate their mathematical thinking
